Symphony of Wine Marks Successful U.S. Premiere in New York

Wine and sound meet in a curated multisensory performance

New York City, New York Feb 10, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - The concert experience Symphony of Wine has successfully celebrated its U.S. premiere in New York City. Hosted at Bohemian National Hall, the evening brought together live symphonic music, staged movement, and a guided tasting of selected Czech and Moravian wines, creating one cohesive, multi-sensory experience.

On stage, Prague Philharmonia performed under the baton of composer and conductor Jan Kuera. The program is built around an original musical composition inspired by the character of selected grape varieties and wine regions. The tasting is integrated directly into the performance, so that each wines aromas and flavors meet the music at precisely timed moments.

The evening unfolded as a six-part suite, with each chapter carrying its own wine and its own story. This is not a tasting next to a concert; wines are served during the music in carefully designed dramaturgical blocks, so taste and scent amplify what is happening in the orchestra and on stage.

After the sparkling introduction, Sparkling Overture, culminating in a ceremonial toast and paired with Cuvée Y from Salay Winery, the program moves to Grüner Veltliner from the Znojmo subregion (Thaya Winery), echoing musical motifs of the Dyje Rivers meanders and vineyards above its banks. Next comes Rhine Riesling from the Czech wine region (Vinné sklepy Kutná Hora), described as the king of wines, opening a musical theme connected to Saint Ludmila and the symbolism of Czech winemaking. The atmosphere then softens with Pinot Blanc from Slovácko (Vinaství sv. Barbora), before brightening into the aromatic Pálava from Mikulov (Sonberk Winery). The finale belongs to Cabernet Moravia from the Velké Pavlovice subregion (Roman Fabig Winery), the deepest chapter both musically and in taste, bringing the evening to a powerful close.

The U.S. premiere in New York is a major milestone for us. After a year and a half of preparation, were proud we were able to present this Czech project internationally at full quality and offer audiences a truly exceptional evening that connects music and wine into one story, said the Prokoncert team.
